Nestled on the border of Randburg and Honeydew, Sundowner is a neighbourhood rich in history and community spirit. However, like many urban areas, it faces challenges that require collective effort to overcome. That’s where the Sundowner Community Association (SCA) steps in. This dedicated group of residents is committed to rejuvenating our greenbelt and park, enhancing neighbourhood security, preserving historical information, promoting local businesses, and addressing road repair and pothole fixing. Here’s a closer look at their initiatives and how they’re making Sundowner a better place to live.

Rejuvenating the Greenbelt

One of the SCA’s primary goals is to restore and enhance Sundowner’s green spaces. The greenbelt and parks are not just areas of beauty but vital to the community’s well-being. They provide a place for recreation, relaxation, and connection with nature.

Current Projects

  • Trimming and Cutting Campaigns: Regular events to trim and cut overgrown vegetation, ensuring the greenbelt and parks remain safe and accessible for everyone. Proper maintenance of trees and shrubs helps prevent overgrowth and reduces the risk of falling branches.

  • Clean-Up Drives: Monthly clean-up drives mobilise residents to pick up litter, clear invasive species, and maintain walking paths.

    Get Involved!

The Sundowner Community Association thrives on the active participation of residents. Whether you have a green thumb, a knack for organizing, or simply a desire to make your neighborhood better, there’s a place for you in the SCA.

    How You Can Help

    • Volunteer: Join a clean-up drive, patrol team, or one of the many committees.

    • Donate: Financial contributions help fund our projects and initiatives.

    • Spread the Word: Share our efforts and encourage your neighbors to get involved.

Together, we can ensure that Sundowner remains a beautiful, safe, and thriving place to live. Join us in our mission to make a lasting difference in our community!
